First planting at Château Liot.

First planting of Sémillon” (the emblematic grape variety of Barsac/Sauternes) by Marie-Amélie David, on two parcels of the estate.

Replanting vines means renewing the viticultural heritage: the new vines will, in time, produce grapes adapted to current demands, with deep rooting, good water balance and better climate resilience — essential criteria for Botrytis and the quality of future Sauternes.

It is also the estate’s commitment to renew the vineyard, ensure its longevity, and keep producing Sauternes in the decades to come.

This bodes well for future vintages, potentially more balanced, expressive and faithful to the Barsac-Sauternes spirit, while embracing a modern and sustainable approach.
